*UPDATE* PUL fabric-Is it food safe?

This is an UPDATE to my previous post on 8/12/11

The question of PUL fabric being food safe is popping up everywhere and so has reusable snack/sandwich bag options.  My search to answer this question is proving to be almost impossible but I can say for certain that some are SAFER than others.  What I have found is that if it is labeled as being BPA, PVC, Lead and Phthalate free-you can be pretty confident that it is safe.  Some manufacturers will clearly state this.  Others will use descriptions such as "CPSIA complaint" or "certified food safe" and will require a bit more research on your part.

As a resource, I have compiled a list of reusable snack bag manufacturers with a description of materials used and links to their respective sites.  Please feel free to suggest more!
